#SayHi to Colorful Floral Spring Outfit Ideas from Old Navy

Spring has sprung, ladies! The weather is warming up quick here in Palm Springs so I’m
reaching for the most comfy and light weight springy dresses. Luckily Old Navy has a lot of cute floral dresses out right now. Here’s a couple that I’ll be pairing and wearing all season long.

Old Navy Spring Florals 2I picked this casual fit & flare cami dress in yellow floral because it gives me 40s spring break vibes. I paired it with a mint cardigan to shield me from the sun a bit and to add another pop of vintage-y color. This next look is also a fit & flare cami dress but in a longer midi length.Old Navy Spring Florals 7 I like this one because I can wear it casually as is, or I can throw a petticoat under it to pump up the volume and add more of a 50s vibe. That’s exactly what I did for this garden party look!Old Navy Spring Florals 9

Old Navy Spring Florals 6Old Navy Spring Florals 8I paired it with a pink cardigan, pink pointy suede ballet flats, and a white floppy hat. I’m definitely feeling proper Easter Sunday vibes in this outfit. Old Navy Spring Florals 10

What I also love is that all of these can be mixed and matched to create different spring looks! Be sure to tag your favorite Old Navy outfits with #SayHi on Instagram!

Vintage Inspired Road Trip Outfits for Spring and Summer

Last month we went on a three week long road trip from LA to Florida and back and since I got some questions about my clothes on Instagram I thought it would be fun to share a few of the outfits I wore on the trip!

Welcome to Florida Pinup Style

Skirt: Pinup Girl Clothing; Sweater: Tatyana Clothing

I love vintage clothing from the 40s-60s and am usually dressed in some sort of vintage inspired look 99% of the time, and our road trip was no exception! Most people think sitting in a car for 6+ hours in a dress and petticoat would be uncomfortable, but the outfits I’m about to show you are from some of my favorite vintage inspired brands which have all the charm of vintage, but are made with modern fabrics and materials that make them a little more comfortable.

Pinup Girl Clothing DressThis blue dress that I wore in Arizona is from Pinup Girl Clothing and is easily one of my favorite dresses ever. It’s a cotton sateen with a slight stretch so it’s perfect for running around in hot desert weather. Find it here.Pinup Girl Clothing Tiki Vera DressThis tiki print dress from Pinup Girl Clothing is another favorite for warm weather. I love this dress because it has a stitched bust design which eliminates the need for a bra and a built-in in underskirt which adds volume without the need of a heavy petticoat. Find it herePinup Girl ClothingAnnnnd another from Pinup Girl Clothing. I wore this look on Valentine’s Day! Funnily enough I ended up matching our hotel room. This outfit is two pieces – a gathered skirt and a super comfy stretchy top. Find the skirt here and the top here!Tatyana Clothing Alika Dress in White

I didn’t get a chance to visit the real Graceland on this trip, but I did find the replica in Orlando! I wore this beautiful white Alika dress from Tatyana for the occassion! This dress has a beautiful texture and a subtle shimmer, but is so light weight and super comfortable and fun to wear. It also comes in a variety of other colors. Find it here.

Unique Vintage Novelty Skirt

I love fun novelty skirts and this one from Unique Vintage has the most adorable beauty parlor print. I paired it with a peasant top from Pinup Girl Clothing and a little cardigan. Find the top here and the skirt hereUnique Vintage Skirt and CardiganHere’s a head to toe Unique Vintage ensemble. This cropped, three quarter sleeve, cherry print cardigan has such an adorable vintage feeling I try to wear it as much as possible. I love the length of the skirt and the high waist makes it very figure flattering. It’s also light weight and has POCKETS. Definitely one of my favorite every day looks. Find the skirt here and the cardigan hereVooDooVixen Dress and CardiganThis floral sleeveless shirt dress and cardigan are both from Voodoo Vixen. The dress is made from stretch cotton that was perfect for frolicking around Savannah. I actually wore it a couple more times during the trip as well, that’s just how great it feels to wear! I paired it with an embroidered floral cardigan when I got a little chilly. You can find the dress here and the cardigan here!

There you go! A few of my favorite pieces from my favorite brands. Follow along on Instagram for more outfits!

Hamlet’s Personal Home Stylist Service Will Change The Way You Shop For Home Decor

When I started redecorating my living room I had no idea that a new rug would be one of the most difficult things for me to find and decide on. I don’t know why, but I just couldn’t narrow down and pinpoint what I wanted. I think it’s because there is just SO MUCH variety out on the market, sifting through rug after rug got overwhelming and I kept putting it off and getting cold feet about my contenders. I kept wishing I could just tell someone what I had in mind and have them do the leg work. Well, my wish was granted! Hamlet does exactly that. Better yet, it’s all through text message and the service is free!

All you have to do is text 646-586-2260 and you’re connected with a personal stylist that is ready and willing to help you find everything you need to decorate your home, from rugs to accent pillows to sofas.

After a few quick questions my Hamlet stylist, Cyrus, sent me 4 amazing rug options based on my needs, and helped me choose and purchase the perfect one in less than 20 minutes all through my SMS screen. It was so much easier than the hours I’d spent in stores and online trying to make a decision.

Everything went seamlessly! My new rug arrived and was exactly how it was described by the stylist. Perfect size, color, style, everything. I’m SO happy.

Sofa Shopping: Mid-Century Styles Under $2000

Now that I’m redecorating my apartment I have to find new furniture that not only fits my space but also fits my budget. Since I tend to redecorate a lot I don’t usually like to spend too much money on pieces that I know I may change out in a year or two, but sofas tend to be expensive. Up until now I’d been using a KARLSTAD loveseat from IKEA (now discontinued) as my main seating area.

At first it was meant to be a place holder until I found something else, but after I changed the legs and accessorized it a bit, it fit in perfectly and served its purpose without any problems.

I’m rearranging my furniture placement and plan to put a sofa against a larger wall in the room. The KARLSTAD loveseat looked tiny and awkward against the new wall so I figured it’s time to upgrade and get a new sofa.

I’m all about mid-century styles, and luckily I’ve found some good sources that have several great options. Here are some of my current favorites. All under $2,000.

Joybird– Joybird obviously has a love for design from the 50s and 60s. They have a large selection of sofas from straight and modern, to tufted traditional, to the wacky lines of the atomic era. Not only do they have a large selection of styles, but the selection of fabrics they’re available in is incomparable. They send you FREE swatches at the click of a button, and in my opinion their upholstery options are the most authentically vintage available.

Some of my favorites:

  Eliot Sofa – $1699

 Howard Sofa – $1499

  Roddy Sofa – $1749

Braxton Sofa – $1799

Bryght– Bryght is a new on my radar but I like what I see. They provide high-end style at a decent price. Although they don’t have a large selection of bright, colorful fabric options, they do have velvet options which is nice.

Sven Sofa – $1299

Celosia – $1199

Wayfair– Wayfair doesn’t exclusively offer mid-century inspired styles like the sources mentioned above, but they do have a great selection of passable high-end designer styles and colors at deeply discounted prices.

Corrigan Studio Kilroot Sofa – $1123

Segis US Cosy Sofa – $1870

Gus Modern Switch Sofa – $1999

Moe’s Home Selection Rosilini Sofa – $1288

West Elm– West Elm has a couple of styles with a vintage vibe I like. The first has the modern, shelter frame, and the second has boomerang shaped legs that can give off an atomic vibe in the right color.

Monroe Mid-Century Sofa – $1299-$1699

Brooklyn Upholstered Sofa – $1299

IKEA– Good old IKEA! Like I mentioned above, I’m upgrading from a KARLSTAD loveseat. I’m no stranger to an IKEA Hack and I’m confident that with a little effort and changes I could save a lot of money and turn this option into something more stylish. At only $400 it’s very tempting. Even as something temporary until I find a true vintage option.

IKEA KARLSTAD Sofa – $399

Thrift Stores/Flea Markets/Craigslist- Another option is finding a second-hand, true vintage piece. I live in an area where vintage is a hot commodity and the good deals get swooped up pretty quickly. Often times between the cost of the couch and the cost to reupholster, it ends up way out of my budget anyway. I’m always lookout for an insane deal though!

Here’s a couple that I missed out on this week

Home Decor: Mid-Century Design Inspo from Chairish

Whenever I’m thinking about a new design concept for a room, I always make an inspiration board. I go online and save images of pieces I like, and then I see how I can put them together in a room. I do this either by using Pinterest or collage tools like Polyvore. Once I have an initial concept, I can go back and see where my favorite items are from, or I can keep a look out for similar pieces at thrift stores and flea markets.

One of my new favorite decor websites is Chairish. It’s a site where you can buy and sell all kinds of furniture and decor. They have a huge selection of unique vintage and mid-century modern items, from sofas to barware. This makes it easy to go through and pick and piece your favorite items. Then you can mix and match and see what sticks. Here are a few room concepts that I’ve been playing around with.

Hollywood Regency Midcentury Style – This is my kind of style. Mixing clean modern lines with opulent pieces is my favorite. Pops of color with gold, always! I’d put a fur rug down under that amazing table and immediately invite my friends over for cocktails and fondue.

Midcentury inspired living roomEntry Way Decor – Entry ways need to have welcoming style and function. It’s also the first impression you get when entering your home. Here you see I added good storage with this green cabinet, a nice lamp for light, a comfortable chair to sit and put shoes on, and a lucite coat hanger.

Entry Way

Colorful Eclectic Living Room – With a great rug and some cool tchotchkes to pull it together, this would make a super fun and comfortable room to hang out in. Mis-matching color is the perfect way to add a lot of style in a small room and on a small budget. This color palette has super retro vibes.

Colorful Apartment

All of these items are available from Chairish. I want them allllll, especially those green chairs. See! Told you they have some good stuff. Hope this helps with your vision board needs like it has with mine!

20 Lilly Pulitzer for Target Home Decor and Clothing Picks

You guys, Lilly Pulitzer for Target is hitting stores on Sunday, April 19th. This is the first time I’ve been really excited for a Target designer collab. A lot of people have been buzzing about this collection with mixed emotions.  Some are raging mad that strangers will think their Lillys are from Target, and this is somehow going to, like, ruin their lives. Others are excited because it’s all just more cute stuff for us to buy, and more importantly, because life really isn’t that serious.

Lilly PulitzerIf you don’t know who Lilly Pulitzer is, here’s a little background. Lilly was a fashion designer from Palm Beach who got her start making dresses that would camouflage the juice stains that she would get on her clothes while working at her juice stand. Costumers loved her creations so much that she started selling them, and by 1959 she was the president of her own company. Lilly Pulitzer’s signature style is colorful, preppy, resort wear. Because of a dress she made for Jackie Kennedy, the shift dress became one of her most popular and timeless designs. Aside from fashion designing, she apparently threw some pretty legendary parties.

The Target collection is set to have 250 pieces including housewares, accessories, and 15 designs created specifically for Target.

Here are my top 20 (yes, 20) picks from the collection.
