All Dolled Up: Tatyana Boutique’s Clementine Dress with Matching Bolero

We’ve been having a very humid summer combined with 110+ degree temperatures, so I’ve been trying to wear outfits that keep me cool and comfortable. This “Clementine” fit and flare dress with bolero that Tatyana Boutique sent me has been an unexpected favorite in my summer rotation! I thought the fitted bodice and bolero would be better suited for cooler weather, but I’m loving it as a summer staple.

The dress has a very classic mid-century fit and flare shape with pleats and POCKETS. YES! Aside from having the most lovely tangerine-y coral color, both the dress and bolero have a delicate embroidery detail.  Tatyana Boutique Clementine Dress Embroidery DetailI paired it here with tone-toned t-strap heels from Sam Edelman, a vintage handbag, and heart shaped sunglasses from Hello Holiday. I didn’t feel any crinoline was needed for a casual look since the skirt has a lot of volume on it’s own. That definitely gives it bonus points as a summer dress for me.Tatyana Boutique Clementine Fit and Flare .jpg

That’s all for today babes! A colorful vintage inspired look available in sizes XS-4X that I highly recommend picking up for yourself.

#SayHi to Colorful Floral Spring Outfit Ideas from Old Navy

Spring has sprung, ladies! The weather is warming up quick here in Palm Springs so I’m
reaching for the most comfy and light weight springy dresses. Luckily Old Navy has a lot of cute floral dresses out right now. Here’s a couple that I’ll be pairing and wearing all season long.

Old Navy Spring Florals 2I picked this casual fit & flare cami dress in yellow floral because it gives me 40s spring break vibes. I paired it with a mint cardigan to shield me from the sun a bit and to add another pop of vintage-y color. Old Navy Spring Florals 3Old Navy Spring FloralsOld Navy Spring Florals 4As far as accessories go, I matched my yellow suede ballet flats to the dress and tied a vintage floral scarf in my hair.Old Navy Spring Florals 1
This next look is also a fit & flare cami dress but in a longer midi length.Old Navy Spring Florals 7 I like this one because I can wear it casually as is, or I can throw a petticoat under it to pump up the volume and add more of a 50s vibe. That’s exactly what I did for this garden party look!Old Navy Spring Florals 9

Old Navy Spring Florals 6Old Navy Spring Florals 8I paired it with a pink cardigan, pink pointy suede ballet flats, and a white floppy hat. I’m definitely feeling proper Easter Sunday vibes in this outfit. Old Navy Spring Florals 10

What I also love is that all of these can be mixed and matched to create different spring looks! Be sure to tag your favorite Old Navy outfits with #SayHi on Instagram!

Vintage Inspired Road Trip Outfits for Spring and Summer

Last month we went on a three week long road trip from LA to Florida and back and since I got some questions about my clothes on Instagram I thought it would be fun to share a few of the outfits I wore on the trip!

Welcome to Florida Pinup Style

Skirt: Pinup Girl Clothing; Sweater: Tatyana Clothing

I love vintage clothing from the 40s-60s and am usually dressed in some sort of vintage inspired look 99% of the time, and our road trip was no exception! Most people think sitting in a car for 6+ hours in a dress and petticoat would be uncomfortable, but the outfits I’m about to show you are from some of my favorite vintage inspired brands which have all the charm of vintage, but are made with modern fabrics and materials that make them a little more comfortable.

Pinup Girl Clothing DressThis blue dress that I wore in Arizona is from Pinup Girl Clothing and is easily one of my favorite dresses ever. It’s a cotton sateen with a slight stretch so it’s perfect for running around in hot desert weather. Find it here.Pinup Girl Clothing Tiki Vera DressThis tiki print dress from Pinup Girl Clothing is another favorite for warm weather. I love this dress because it has a stitched bust design which eliminates the need for a bra and a built-in in underskirt which adds volume without the need of a heavy petticoat. Find it herePinup Girl ClothingAnnnnd another from Pinup Girl Clothing. I wore this look on Valentine’s Day! Funnily enough I ended up matching our hotel room. This outfit is two pieces – a gathered skirt and a super comfy stretchy top. Find the skirt here and the top here!Tatyana Clothing Alika Dress in White

I didn’t get a chance to visit the real Graceland on this trip, but I did find the replica in Orlando! I wore this beautiful white Alika dress from Tatyana for the occassion! This dress has a beautiful texture and a subtle shimmer, but is so light weight and super comfortable and fun to wear. It also comes in a variety of other colors. Find it here.

Unique Vintage Novelty Skirt

I love fun novelty skirts and this one from Unique Vintage has the most adorable beauty parlor print. I paired it with a peasant top from Pinup Girl Clothing and a little cardigan. This cropped, three quarter sleeve, cherry print cardigan has such an adorable vintage feeling I try to wear it as much as possible. I love the length of the skirt and the high waist makes it very figure flattering. It’s also light weight and has POCKETS. Definitely one of my favorite every day looks. Find the skirt here and the cardigan hereVooDooVixen Dress and CardiganThis floral sleeveless shirt dress and cardigan are both from Voodoo Vixen. The dress is made from stretch cotton that was perfect for frolicking around Savannah. I actually wore it a couple more times during the trip as well, that’s just how great it feels to wear! I paired it with an embroidered floral cardigan when I got a little chilly. You can find the dress here and the cardigan here!

There you go! A few of my favorite pieces from my favorite brands. Follow along on Instagram for more outfits!

60s Inspired Spring Nautical Outfits featuring Old Navy

I’m sure you can tell by now that my personal wardrobe is very influenced by mid-century styles, particularly the 50s and 60s. Even when I shop at modern stores I find ways to create looks that fit in with my aesthetic. Old Navy is the perfect place to shop for staples that can be used in all types of looks. Since spring is right around the corner, I picked up a few mix and match pieces to create a pastel take on nautical wear.

For this early 60s inspired look I used the cutest Ruffle-Sleeve Linen-Blend Top and paired it with Mid-Rise Pop-Color Rockstar Jeans, colorful loafers, and a scarf. Each look costs under $100!

The button up, linen-blend top has a very early 60s silhouette with the cutest flutter on the sleeves.

It’s SO comfortable, you guys. Textured linen always feels very “yacht club” to me and the detail in the fabric reminds me of rope, which also feels very nautical. 10.jpegI paired the top with brightly colored denim in the shades Strawberry Dust and Tattle Teal. 60s Inspired Spring Nautical Outfits featuring Old NavyThe colors and ankle length tapered cut mimic 60s style pants pretty well, but have all the comfort of modern stretch denim. 60s Inspired Spring Nautical Outfits featuring Old Navy I very rarely wear pants, if ever, but these are definitely something I’ll wear all the time, whether it’s around the house working on projects or out on the beach.

Classic flats finish off the look, like these sky blue Faux-Leather Moccasin Loafers.2.jpegFinally, to top it all off I tied a light pink scarf in my hair. 60s Inspired Spring Nautical Outfits featuring Old NavyNow you see how picking the right pieces can give you vintage vibes, even if it’s from a modern store like Old Navy!

How I’m Coping with Holiday Chaos with Olay Eyes

You guys, am I the only one who feels like the holidays sprung up on us this year? This month is going by so quickly and I feel like there’s still so much to be done before Christmas! So far December has been full of get-togethers, cocktail party planning, and late night DIY projects. I am TIRED, my babies, but I live for this stuff and all of this just comes along with my love for the holidays.
Olay Eyes.jpgEven though I’m tired from all the fun holiday chaos, I don’t want to LOOK tired on the outside. That’s why I turned to the Olay Eyes collection for help and why I’m sharing this v important PSA with you.
Olay Eyes 2 (2).jpgThe bags under my eyes from the late night projects, the puffy eyes from crying to my favorite cheesy Christmas movies, and my droopy “too much cocktail testing” lids have all been remedied by the products in this line.
Olay Eyes (2).jpgAfter only a few days of using the Pro-Retinol Eye Treatment I noticed smoother skin and less fine lines around my eyes. A dab of the Ultimate Eye Cream over my lids in the morning smooths and hydrates my lids to the point where I haven’t even needed to use eye shadow primer anymore. Yes it’s that good!

The Illuminating Eye Cream is a miracle in a bottle. In combination with the Eye Lifting Serum it’s out of this world. I look like the most rested person ever when I use them together, even though I feel like a frantic old mess on some days. You feel me?
Olay Eyes (3).jpgNo lie last week while I was Christmas shopping I felt my eyes literally puffing up by the minute and the tiredness kicking in and then I remembered I brought my Olay Eyes Depuffing Roller with me and rolled it on right there in the store as I waited in line. No shame in my game. I instantly felt reenergized and by the time I left the store my eyes felt and looked nice and bright! I’m addicted to it. Pro tip: I put mine in the fridge for a couple of minutes for ultra soothing under eye action. ADDICTED.
Olay Eyes Depuffing Roller is my latest beauty addictionWell, this month doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down at all, but at least thanks to Olay Eyes I LOOK well rested! Have you tried any of these products yet? Get on it!

I have more fun projects, recipes, and holiday ideas coming your way so stay tuned!

This post was sponsored by Olay but all opinions and words are my own.

20 Lilly Pulitzer for Target Home Decor and Clothing Picks

You guys, Lilly Pulitzer for Target is hitting stores on Sunday, April 19th. This is the first time I’ve been really excited for a Target designer collab. A lot of people have been buzzing about this collection with mixed emotions.  Some are raging mad that strangers will think their Lillys are from Target, and this is somehow going to, like, ruin their lives. Others are excited because it’s all just more cute stuff for us to buy, and more importantly, because life really isn’t that serious.

Lilly PulitzerIf you don’t know who Lilly Pulitzer is, here’s a little background. Lilly was a fashion designer from Palm Beach who got her start making dresses that would camouflage the juice stains that she would get on her clothes while working at her juice stand. Costumers loved her creations so much that she started selling them, and by 1959 she was the president of her own company. Lilly Pulitzer’s signature style is colorful, preppy, resort wear. Because of a dress she made for Jackie Kennedy, the shift dress became one of her most popular and timeless designs. Aside from fashion designing, she apparently threw some pretty legendary parties.

The Target collection is set to have 250 pieces including housewares, accessories, and 15 designs created specifically for Target.

Halloween Costume Ideas

Ok, so I don’t know if I’m actually going to have the opportunity to dress up for Halloween this year, but I was piecing together some ideas  just in case. I’ll probably wait until last minute and in a panic end up as a gypsy like I have for the last 25 years. Let’s pretend that won’t happen. Here are my top picks so far:

I loveeee Eloise and this set would be cheap and easy for me to put together. I would just need a blonde wig. Maybe my husband will dress up as a Plaza bellhop!

Eloise Costume
You know who else I love? Gemma (Katy Sagal) from Sons of Anarchy. I am SERIOUSLY considering this one because my husband can go as a crew member and it’ll be rad. Ahhh I need to find a fake chest scar and titty tat.
What Would Gemma Do?
If I had a few thousand dollars to spend I’d go all chic glamorous witch in this Givenchy dress and shoes. I’d probably look fantastic but this is real life and that’s not going to happen.
Wicked
Now I have to go try to find blue dog dresses because we want to dress our pups up as the twins from The Shining. Yay Halloweeeeeeen!
